1999 Hikes In 1999, I went on 58 hikes -- more than the previous 4 years combined! The focus for most of the year was to train for Mount Whitney, and that involved hiking almost every weekend for a while. I went all over the place, going on 8 different trips -- 3 to Tahoe, 2 to Sequoia/Kings Canyon, 1 to Yosemite, 1 to Lassen, and 1 to Seattle (Olympic and Mount Rainier).
