Eastern Sierra Fall 2019

Day 2 of 4

Saturday, October 12th
Little Lakes Valley

Colors at Swall Meadows

It looked like colors would be better at the Bishop Creek area, but there was a hike I wanted to do at Rock Creek, and I was hoping there would still be some color there (though reports indicated it might be past peak). We decided we'd do Bishop Creek the following day, so we stuck with Rock Creek.

As we drove up Rock Creek Road, we did see some pretty good color, especially at the lower elevations along the road. There was a mix as we drove up. Some areas still showed some green, some vibrant yellows, and some more brown and past peak as we got higher.

Then we continued on up the road to do the Little Lakes Valley hike.

After the hike we had dinner in Mammoth Lakes before returning to our rental house.
